Will & Anne's Wedding with the new Sony a7 III

It was the perfect day for a wedding in Durham, NC. The sun was shining, the temperature was perfect. Family and friends had traveled from around the world to celebrate this special day!

What more could you ask for on your wedding day?

I met Will and Anne just a few weeks before their big day, they reached out and I had their wedding date available. We met up for a consultation and we hit it off, I knew they would be a fun couple to shoot and they absolutely were. An awesome family and great group of friends made the day even better then expected!

The couple got ready at the Hilton by Duke Campus in Durham, NC. A great hotel with lots of large windows (every photographer loves walking into a hotel room and seeing floor to ceiling windows!)
The Bride and her crew took over the Presidential Suite and the Guys had a smaller suite one floor down.

The Wedding Ceremony took place at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Durham,NC, a pretty cool church with a blend of modern and traditional style. Surprisingly easy to shoot in. The church has quite a lot of backlighting when facing the alter during their 3pm Ceremony but the side lighting helped to overcome some of the lighting challenges given you typically can't shoot flash during the ceremony.

Our Bridal Portrait session included the whole crew tagging along for photos. We shot at Duke University Campus, one block over from the Duke University Chapel. The campus is awesome for portraits of any type but bridal portraits are amazing there.

I mentioned I was shooting the New Sony A7 III with a 24-70mm f2.8 G-Master Lens, I can't begin to go into all the details of how well this camera performed. Just have a look for yourself.

The reception took place at the Hilton by Duke University, a hidden gem in  my opinion. It comfortably fit over 200 people and the service was great. Plus if that room wasn't big enough, there are additional banquet rooms available.
One of the highlights for me was the live Big Band. The Leon Jordan's Continentals, these guys are amazing, big horns section, cool jazzy drums and a truly authentic feel. If your looking for a big band for your event, check these guys out!

Leon Jordan's Continentals - Amazing!

A great day!
